Christopher Koch is the Chair of Corporate Governance and Auditing at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, a position he has held since 2013. His academic background includes a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Mannheim, completed in 2008, and his Habilitation in 2013. In 2021, he was honored with the Mannheim Business School Teaching Award, and in 2024, he received the prestigious ACA Prize of the University of St. Gallen, which was established in the tradition of the Dr. Kausch Prize for outstanding audit research.
He has published extensively in leading academic journals such as The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Accounting, Organizations and Society, Review of Accounting Studies, and European Accounting Review, among others. He has also served as an Associate Editor of Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory since 2023 and for the European Accounting Review since 2020. From 2017-2020, he was Associate Editor of the journal Behavioral Research in Accounting.
Christopher Koch is a member of the Scientific Committee of the European Auditing Research Network (EARNet) and the European Network for Experimental Accounting Research (ENEAR).
Martin Artz is a full Professor at the University of Münster (GER) and Director of the Institute of Management Accounting & Control. He received his doctoral degree in 2010 and his diploma in business administration (equivalent to a master's degree) in 2006, both at the University of Mannheim. He is the academic director of the Executive MBA programs at the University of Münster and part of the adjunct faculty of Mannheim Business School. His research, teaching, and advisory key topics are management accounting and control practices for strategy implementation and value creation. He has published articles on these topics in leading academic journals such as The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Accounting, Organizations and Society, Journal of Marketing, and Journal of Marketing Research. Martin Artz has more than 15 years of experience in training and consulting managers and firms in areas such as strategy implementation, planning, and budgeting, cost management and restructuring, as well as data-driven performance measurement. He is also active as an entrepreneur and co-founder of a software-as-a-service company with a focus on target setting and strategy execution.
