Discuss the relevance of professional conflict resolution – and how it can be done.
Disputes arise in all areas of professional and private life and have a tendency to turn into conflicts. Conflicts can develop a destructive power which often takes the involved parties by surprise – and which can poison and ruin relationships or lead to long and costly legal proceedings. Conflicts destroy value.
We know that the later conflicts are being addressed, the higher the effort is to solve them. Yet, the hope that differences “just go away” is often stronger than the emotional effort to address and resolve dispute. Conflict is ubiquitous, so that it is critical to understand ways to manage conflict when conflict evolves.
Leaders identify differences and know to resolve disputes.
We shall discuss what conflicts have in common, and how moderated forms of negotiation can help manage and resolve conflict in order to understand the VALUE DRIVER DISPUTE RESOLUTION. To do so, a fair share of the course will focus on negotiation and its success factors, including practical activities.
