Admission Criteria
In the Mannheim Executive MBA, participants have a lot in common with each other: They have already achieved success in their careers, they are highly motivated and dedicated to their work, they enjoy learning new things and developing both personally and professionally, and look forward to doing so with other participants.
The formal criteria at a glance:
- An internationally recognized academic degree in any discipline (at least a bachelor’s with a minimum duration of 3 years or ECTS 180)
- At least 8 years of postgraduate work experience
- Significant professional experience, including disciplinary and/or budgetary responsibilities
- Excellent command of the English language (TOEIC with a minimum score of 845, TOEFL with a minimum score of 95, IELTS with a minimum score of 7.0, or equivalent)
- Experience in an international work environment
- The motivation to invest a substantial amount of time and effort into our highly challenging but also very rewarding Executive MBA program
- Applicants whose only academic qualification is a bachelor’s degree obtained in India are required to complete the APS procedure and submit the confirmation in due time before the start of the program. Please refer to the following website for more information: https://aps-india.de/
If you don’t match the criteria or do not have the time just now for studying an Executive MBA with us, you can still hone your leadership skills in one of our open certificate courses, for example the Executive Leadership Accelerator or the Female Leadership Accelerator.
Both short EMBA-level courses will help you become a more effective leader, transform your company culture, and navigate volatile business environments.
After gaining your certificate, you will be eligible for a discount of €1,900 on the tuition fee of one of our Executive MBA programs.
Admissions Process
If you meet the admissions criteria for the Mannheim Executive MBA program, please contact us either in person or via phone or e-mail. Discuss your professional objectives with our admissions team and receive a first feedback regarding a potential application.
We invite you to one of our Open Days or Information Sessions in Mannheim which are designed to help interested professionals get a very detailed idea of what it means to pursue an Executive MBA at Mannheim Business School.
Start the process by submitting your LinkedIn profile or CV. Our Admissions Manager will review your profile, confirm whether you meet the primary admissions requirements, arrange a personal online consultation to discuss your motivation and timing, address any open questions, and facilitate contact with alumni for an exchange.
As part of the application, you will be asked to supply the following documents via our online application tool (personalized link will be provided after having had the consultation call):
- Four personal essays (you will receive the topics and format in the application form link email).
- Copies of previous degrees, transcripts of records, diplomas, general English language test like a TOEIC (reading + listening test min. 845 pts.) IELTS (academic min. 7.0) or TOEFL (academic min. 95 pts.), Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (C1), Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (C1) no older than two years), and a digital portrait photo.
- References: Please inform two referees and prepare their contact information (an automatic email with the reference form will be sent to them once your application is completed and application fee is paid).
Please submit the online application form and ensure all documents are complete. Furthermore, please pay the €150 application fee and upload the receipt.
After your application has been submitted, it will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee, who will then invite selected candidates for an interview in Mannheim.
This interview gives us the opportunity to find out more about you and to answer any questions that you might still have.
Within approximately one week after your selection interview, you will receive notification of whether or not you have been admitted into the program.
Fees & Deadlines
The tuition fee for the Mannheim Executive MBA is €58,500, plus a non-refundable application fee of €150.
This includes all classes and examinations, books and course materials, group and individual coaching, the Leadership Blocks including Outdoor Leadership Training, and accommodation during both international study trips. Flights are not included. After graduation, alumni can participate in the Transformation Week at a substantially reduced fee.
Early-Bird Deadline: February 15, 2027
Applicants who complete the application process by February 15, 2027, receive an Early Bird discount of €4,500, reducing the tuition fee to €54,000.
The program starts each year in April. Tuition fees can be paid in monthly or quarterly installments over the program duration; under German tax law, participants can generally claim these costs for tax purposes.
Scholarships
Mannheim Business School awards up to 18 partial scholarships per cohort to candidates who fully self-finance their studies. The percentages listed below are maximum discounts. The actual discount is determined based on the individual applicant's profile and the relevant scholarship criteria.
Scholarship Categories
How do I apply for a scholarship?
Submit an essay of no more than 600 words together with your application documents, answering the three questions for your chosen scholarship category.
You may apply for one scholarship only, so choose the category that best fits your profile. Because each category works with a fixed budget per cohort, we recommend applying early.
Women in Business Scholarship
For women who have already demonstrated leadership potential, through their career progression, increasing responsibility, or social engagement.
Up to 10% of tuition fees, max. €5,850

Finance & Banking Excellence Scholarship
For applicants with an outstanding career in banking, asset management, corporate finance, private equity, or insurance, demonstrated by significant increases in responsibility, deal or P&L responsibility.

Entrepreneurs & Founders Scholarship
For founders and aspiring founders involved in a start-up or founding project, or with a concrete intention to start a business.

For executives with relevant professional experience in an SME, a German mid-sized company, or a start-up.

Bundeswehr Officers Scholarship
For Bundeswehr officers preparing to transition to the civilian workforce, with demonstrated leadership and responsibility in a military environment and a clear plan for transferring their experience to the business world.
Up to 6% of tuition fees, max. €3,510
- Describe a leadership situation during your military service in which you had to make a decision under uncertainty and time pressure. What did you learn from it for your leadership practice?
- Why are you applying for the Bundeswehr Officers Scholarship, and what is your concrete plan for transitioning into a management career in the private sector?

International Scholarship
For candidates with significant international experience, such as extended international assignments, international management responsibility, or experience building markets and teams abroad. Residence outside Germany is not required.
Up to 4% of tuition fees, max. €2,340

Outstanding Candidate Scholarship
All admitted candidates are eligible to apply for the Outstanding Candidate Scholarship.The scholarship is awarded five days before the start of the program jointly by the Chief Marketing Officer and the Admissions Manager, based on the full pool of admitted candidates.
It replaces any previously awarded scholarship: any discount already granted is credited against it, and it cannot be combined with another scholarship.

Requirements & combining discounts
Scholarships are awarded exclusively to participants who fully self-finance their studies, without employer contribution.
Please inform us without delay of any changes to your funding arrangement. If tuition fees are later invoiced to an employer in whole or in part, the scholarship entitlement ends and the full amount must be repaid.
Scholarships can be combined with the Early Bird and Alumni discounts, up to a maximum total discount of 25%. Different scholarships cannot be combined with one another.
